Nearby, a middle-aged couple's plans to celebrate their 20th anniversary are disrupted, revealing deeper fractures in their relationship. And at a midtown gym, two 30something singles meet, seemingly by accident, and turn out to be just what the other needs, but is afraid to face. The characters' journeys intersect with one another, and with a mysterious elderly woman who may or may not be a ghost, until finally by dawn each has confronted the hollow existence of their life and begun to unlock the fear that has kept them there. Spent most of her life living in an old mansion taking care of her grandmother; that has imprinted an old-fashioned quality upon her, which makes her sensuality surprising. Mrs. Jones is revealed to be Samantha's grandmother -- an ancient, but still sexy, wealthy woman with a unique blend of humor, bite and wisdom. Recently lost his job to downsizing; his youngest child (a boy who didn't turn out the way Dave wanted) has just left the house; his wife Clare has become the sole breadwinner. Reacts with a short fuse and a wandering eye. Has constructed his life to avoid thinking about a life- altering childhood tragedy; that wall is starting to crumble. Good guy in a bad place. Ana: Latina, 20s. Marries Billy, but panics and becomes a runaway bride. Attractive, smart, hardworking and confident. Went through hell to emigrate from Latin America; her childhood poverty haunts her. Worked her way up from a laundromat to a fancy real-estate office; she is Peter's assistant and a Realtor-in-training. Loves Billy but realizes that he's not onboard with her huge need for upward mobility. Billy: Caucasian man, mid- late 20s. Sweet, genuine, comfortable in his own skin. Good guy with no ambition whatsoever except to have the family he never had as a kid. Grew up in a lower-middle-class family the youngest of many brothers; took care of them and his alcoholic mother. Sirona Studios is casting actors ranging in age from 4 to 90 for "Deception," an Arab Sopranos with a taste of the classic Hitchcock whodunit filmed in a Film Noir style; (think Maltese Falcon, Laura, and Double Indemnity). We are looking for Middle Eastern actors for key roles and at least one Asian Actor. We also need a person of short stature. We have a 24 day shoot in Southern NH and Northern Mass from 7/24 -8/18 with a wrap party on 8/19. We have several investors interested but as of this post, we have not yet secured financing. We are currently in talks with the agents for F. Murray Abraham, Fyvish Finkle, and Katherine Ross among others. If financing is secured, we will have a SAG production but can hire non-SAG actors too. If not, we all have 3 weeks of fun and meet at Sundance. This is your chance to work with an award winning Producer/Director on a film going to Sundance. Given the tight schedule, we will not be able to hold a call in NYC.
