Leopold of the Shoe Store is an Indie feature SAG (SAG low budget contract) farce to be shot on DV-Cam revolving around the adventures of a shoe store clerk named Leopold who becomes infatuated with a pretty actress named Kathy who one day purchases shoes at his store. In his quest for the girl he becomes enmeshed in a web of characters involved with, amongst other things, cocaine trafficking.

The plot is complex with most of the characters turning out to be in some way related to everyone else. Leopold who is the eternal jerk, works for Graham, the last word in pomposity. Kathy is friends with Rosellen, a sexy ditz. Rosellen's boyfriend Eric, is a big scary, macho, tattooed thug who "hates fags" but is tormented by homoerotic dreams. Pokrassa is his stupid henchman. Leopold's best friend is the eternally optimistic and happy blind antiques dealer, Pendleberry. Kathy's boyfriend Tommy is a handsome, aspiring actor whom Leopold is terribly jealous of. Buddy Nestor is a somewhat shady man about town who has a fling with Kathy and employs her in his antiques shop and whose caretaker, Glen, is a weirdo. Ultimately, Buddy runs afoul of Eric. There are flashbacks to Leopold's father, a hopeless gambler, and Leopold's dying mother, a former Ziegfeld Girl, (role is cast). There is Elmer, a nerdy little man who is bullied by Leopold into buying shoes that are too tight and whose large girlfriend Diane, is determined to get revenge. Shooting in late May through the first and second weeks of June.

CAST BREAKDOWN:
LEOPOLD OSTEOKUP: 35-40 Caucasian male of average height/weight. Very comedic character. He should be somewhat funny looking but not grotesque.
LEOPOLD AS A CHILD: 10 year old version of Leopold.
KATHLEEN MARY SMITH: 20-25, race not important. Must be strikingly pretty in a cute way. Very sunny, vivacious personality.
ERIC VON MARC MALKOVSKY: Large, rugged, powerfully built Caucasian "biker" type 35-40. He must be menacing looking with a shaved head and beard. Actor must be good at accents and be able to convincingly portray a macho repressed gay man.
