GREAT MALE SINGER NEEDED, NEW YORK

Award-winning director and television producer seeking a male singer to lay down the audio track of a song that will be made into a viral music video, similar to SNL's ''D... in a Box.'' You should be a tenor / upper tenor, be comfortable belting out an 80's power ballad / rock song, and ideally able to nail the comedy of the lyrics. The recording session will be Wednesday, February 14 in Manhattan. While there is no pay, you will have a copy of the song and finished music video days later, and the video has an excellent chance of going viral. COMPOSER/MUSICIAN FOR SCHOOL VISUAL ARTS STUDENT FILM, NEW YORK

Payment is on a lo/no/deferred basis. An ambitious Student Thesis production is seeking a musician/composer for choosing and creating the best music for the film in the making. "The Other Kind of Balance" is an ambitious film about new discoveries and different views on life. It touches upon one's search for a release from an everyday mundane life and finding it in the place where one didn't dare to step into before, an alternative lifestyle. It's a film about personal acceptance and human duality. (final film will be about 1 hour long with a possibility of later being expanded to a full feature) Currently in the final stages of production and simultaneously in post-production editing stage, the film needs a good score to be complete. With the deadline in early April, we are seeking to get the composer/musician on board as soon as possible. Each year, Proship Entertainment provides over 700 musicians with one to six-month contracts playing music on board more than fifty cruise ships traveling worldwide. Live auditions are for showband musicians who play these instruments: piano, saxophone doubling on Clarinet and Fute, Trumpet, Bass, Drums, Trombone, Guitar. He’s spent the last two weeks traveling up the California coast in search of perfect waves. He is a quiet, soft spoken, yet stern man. Surfing experience for this role would be extremely useful, but is not required. Natalie is an early-twenties woman traveling down the coast to Mexico, looking for warmer waters. She is a confident, free-spirited, independent woman committed to a life by the ocean on her own terms. Mickey is a rough, mid- twenties male who will hold on to his home surf break any way he can. "THE TOOLBOX BANDIT", SHORT COMEDY FILM, NEW HAVEN

CT Pictures, LLC is now looking for talent for its upcoming S16mm short, THE TOOLBOX BANDIT, a comedy based on the true story of a man who used power tools to hold up a series of convenience stores. Though his only passion is playing video games, he manages to survive by free-loading off his family and friends. That is, until the repo man comes. SAMIR, 50s to 80s, Indian, Pakistani, or Middle Eastern submissions accepted, speaks English with a heavy accent, Arti’s grandfather, part-time manager of a gas station, annoyed by costumers who try to barter for gas. He frowns more than he smiles and is over-protective of his granddaughter. ARTI, 20s, Indian, Pakistani, or Middle Eastern submissions accepted, attractive, works at her grandfather’s gas station, not afraid to purchase a gun to protect the family business, inclined to date guys who make her laugh, her family considers her a goody two-shoes though she has a wild streak. REPO-MAN, mid 30s to mid 40s, Caucasian, punctual, a man with a mission who lives by the motto "early to bed early to rise." BUFF NEIGHBOR, mid 20s to early 40s, Caucasian, enjoys weightlifting and baking cupcakes, an upright citizen willing to help his neighbors, unforgiving of those who take advantage of his kindness. Though not gay, he has a secret fetish with wearing bright pink clothes. MOM, mid to late 30s, Caucasian, a stay-at- home mom, she brings her five year old boy everywhere she goes. BOY, 4-7, Caucasian, has a wild imagination, pays attention to details most adults are too busy to notice. MOVERS, 20s to 30s, any race, blue-collared working men who get off on working side jobs for the Repo-Man. JACKSON POLLOCK, a middle-aged cat, has a love-hate relationship with his caretaker, Luke. In a small Rhode Island cemetery, Emmett Shaw, a misanthrope dedicated to his job as a gravedigger finds everything he has worked for and cares about in jeopardy when the existence of his cemetery is threatened by an influx of deaths slowly claiming the finite land that remains. Having spent all his time cultivating his cemetery, Emmett is forced to face the complex reality that his life has consisted of nothing else. Aloof gravedigger who is dedicated to his job, hindering him from cultivating personal relationships. Sensitive and untrusting, Emmett leads a of life of detached solitude, only finding peace when he is at the cemetery. 2. Male / 41-50 yrs. PRIEST- The role of the PRIEST. Wise, kind, and patient. The Priest attempts to solve everyone’s problems, despite the fact that his solutions are not always ideal. His sermons are not widely attended, but he takes pride in each one in the same way he attempts to learn about and remain close to all of his congregants. He is diligent and humble, but has a life outside of his church.

Wildsound Feedback Film Festival, Folk Alliance Music Conference, 79th Academy Awards, HBO Comedy Arts Festival Highlight February Media Events

Song writing duo, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, are celebrated in the American Songbook series of Lincoln Center in New York on February 2 in a musical program that features performances by Brian Stokes Mitchell, Sandy Stewart, Lari White, Lillias White and others. Screenwriter/Author/Actor George Clayton Johnson, and Senior Managing Partner of Creative Convergence, Philippa Burgess, will speak February 3 at the Alameda Writer's Group Meeting series in Glendale. ASCAP opens the second season of Jazz at Lincoln Center on February 5 in New York with ASCAP's "Month of Mondays," a program showcasing talented young jazz creators. The International Film and TV Finance Summit gets underway February 5 for three days in Los Angeles and among other things offers perspective on the growing role of Hedge Funds and institutional investors in global film finance. "Animex Awards Animation and Gaming Festival," February 5-9 in Middlesbrough, focuses on the best of British animation from the past and present, in addition to Animex International Student Animation Awards, previews of animated feature films and a two-day celebration of computer games, Animex Game. The monthly Wildsound Feedback Film Festival in Toronto on February 14 hosts film screenings before an audience of film lovers with a special guest moderator who discusses each film with the audience, and new works read by actors each month. Ellen DeGeneres has been selected to host the 79th Academy Awards telecast over the ABC TV network from Hollywood, and an exhibition of 50 Golden Statuettes is on view at Hollywood & Highland Center, February 9-24. Grammy award winning country music legend Kenny Rogers will be featured entertainment at the Golden Mike Award in honor of Kenneth W. Lowe and The E.W. Scripps Company February 26 in New York. In Aspen, the HBO Comedy Arts Festival kicks off February 28 continuing through March 4, accessible via several types of passes and packages that also provides access to the many festival parties hosted throughout. On the heels of the UNESCO Honourable Mention for Peace Education award, the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival set to run February 28 through March 8 in Prague will host over 50 discussions of various foreign, political, human-rights, civil society and ecological themes in conjunction with the festival.
