Casting the lead role of DANNY MURPHY – late 30’s/early 40’s, rugged good looks, tall, well-built, a paradox, affable, extrovert, with quiet depth; requires an excellent stage actor with versatile range. DESIGNER-DRESSED PATRON – a happy drunk, 30’s to 50’s, can be Asian, or Latino heritage - JOHN – 60-70-s, Danny’s alter-ego and mentor, works in a graveyard, Caucasian, DR. DAN, 40’s, African-American, comedic flair, JOSEPH, 40’s, very attractive, addictive personality, can be manipulative yet charming, experienced actor, POP, 60- 70, a traditional father, expects his daughter to be the same, Latino or Asian, strong actor. "All About Sneakers," an original play by Asian-American actor and award-winning playwright, Arista; is a story of Love - the discovery that loving oneself first precedes loving another. Rehearsals begin late October, evenings and weekends. Tech and Performance dates: 11-17 December, at the Lion Theatre, Theatre Row. Chad is dedicated to multi-cultural casting and the realistic portrayal of today’s society. Two performance dates will be benefits for the non-profit org. Seeking: 4 Males, 2 Females. Arnold Beckoff: (Early 20s – 30s). Self-made man (professional drag queen) seeking love and respect. A kvetch of great wit and want. Sense of humor shields his vulnerability. Seeking an actor of depth, heart and comic timing. Ed Reiss: (30s - 40s). Handsome, masculine with a boyish charm. Lover to Arnold and later husband to Laurel. He is conflicted between what is heart wants and what he thinks the world expects of him. Laurel/Lady Blues: (30s). Rather unfancy in appearance, thoughtful, bright, slightly neurotic with girlish charm. Strives to be tolerant of husband's bisexuality and past relationship. Must sing. Please bring 16-32 bars of blues or torch song to be sung a capella. Alan: (18 - Early 20s). A beautiful young model/hustler in love with Arnold. He needs to be needed. Mrs. Beckoff: (60s). A true Jewish Mother, full of love and fight. Not comfortable with Arnold's sexuality or his idea of family. A powerhouse with heart and great comic ability. David: (15). Arnold's street smart, caring and witty gay foster child. Person playing David must be able to be a convincing 15 year old.

NYU STUDENT SHORT FILM

NYU final year graduate film student is casting for "Nowhere Man" (working title), an HD short film. Producer: Tamas Toro. Director: Wing-Yee Wu. Writer: Hart Eddy. 3 NYC day shoot Nov 4 - 6. Story: Aida is stuck in wartime Sarajevo, Nowhere Man has recently arrived to America - both of their realities are equally bizarre. The lovers try to stay sane through communicating with each other, but both of them have to navigate getting from point A to point B in doing so. Nowhere Man encounters Garth Brooks during his journey. Aida has to maneuver an alleyway, a space clearly visible to snipers. AIDA: female, 35-40, Eastern European.
