CASTING SOMETHING CALLED HOLLY FEATURE FILM

Non-Union. Director: TBD. Something Called Holly is about a 20 year old girl who moves from one world of values to another. But it also portrays themes of responsibility, admission versus accountability, conflicts with opposing values, idealism versus grim reality, and urban versus suburban lifestyles. Holly is introduced as a strong willed girl, who makes her own decisions in whatever circumstances life may offer, but over time, is confronted with the reality of her lifestyle, becomes 'unable to see the forest through the trees', and struggles to find a way out. The 'way out' seems to come by way of fate, the gods, or perhaps just raw coincidence (with a bit of luck). Her uncle Jake and the abandoned remains of her family - a family destroyed by sibling disputes and rivalry - have discovered her lifestyle and whereabouts and decide to bring her back home. The story unfolds as Holly tries to gain new footing in her new world, but needs to overcome her old world values. She struggles to find comfort in a family that feels obligated to her and tries to love her back again. Location: TBD; starts: TBD

Breakdowns:

HOLLY - Female / 18-24 yrs. / White. Requires Nudity: 20-year-old. She is described as the 'ideal everything pleasing about a girl with bright Atomic Pink hair in pigtails.' Nudity and simulated sex required (guaranteed no full nudity to print). Be willing to temporarily dye hair. Be in great physical shape. Dance background a plus.

BILLY - Male / 15-17 yrs. / White. Requires Nudity: A senior in high school. He is a not-so-stupid jock, but nevertheless very naive. Must be prepared to buzz hair to 1/2'. Be in great physical shape - grappling background a plus. Partial nudity and simulated sex required.

BRITNEY - Female / 11-14 yrs. / White: A freshman in high school. Desires independence and strives for it. She's a sweet innocent bud waiting to bloom, bright-eyed and hopeful. Be in great physical shape. Dance background a plus. (An 18 year old to play fourteen is preferred, but may prove difficult to find, so casting is open to all young ages with parents' permission.)

JAKE STIMPAND - Male / 41-50 yrs. / White: A functioning alcoholic writer who strives to be a responsible parent. He is in his early 40's. He can be found in front of the keyboard most nights drinking an absurd amount of Wild Turkey. Need to be willing to grow a beard - quick facial growth a plus.

DENISE STIMPAND - Female / 41-50 yrs. / White: Jake's wife, mother to Billy & Britney. She does nothing against Jake's drinking habits. In fact, she may be enabling through non-action. She is in her early 40's. She maintains order in a very domesticated household while still very much in love with her husband.

MARTIN BEDFORD - Male / 31-40 yrs. / White: A high school teacher. He is in his mid to late 30's. He continually struggles with what is the right thing to do as well as what is most practical and realistic. He is the older Bedford brother. Simulated sex without nudity.

TOM BEDFORD - White. Requires Nudity: In his late 20's, the younger Bedford brother is a strong-armed bouncer that wears a cocksure smile as if perpetually chewing gum. He is Holly's 'more than a friend'. He lives with her. Nudity (full frontal negotiable) and simulated sex required.

JOHN - Male / 18-24 yrs. / Any Ethnicity: A 19-year-old hedonist. He is Billy's old friend who just returned back to his childhood roots after spending some time abroad. He returns to find everything the same except himself.

JANINE - Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity: In her early 30's, she's looking to settle down and start a family. She thinks she found the right man: Martin Bedford. But his concern for better financial stability before pursuing parenthood puts an eventual strain on their relationship. Simulated sex without nudity.
