The youngest couple marries; the bride instantly gets cold feet and runs away. Nearby, a middle-aged couple's plans to celebrate their 20th anniversary are disrupted, revealing deeper fractures in their relationship. And at a midtown gym, two 30something singles meet, seemingly by accident, and turn out to be just what the other needs, but is afraid to face. Seeking: Peter: Man, mid 30s-early 40s, any ethnicity. Very successful realtor. Type A, ambitious, driven, workaholic. Transformational, charismatic; has a quality all her own. Magnetic, engaging, haunting -- once you meet her you never forget her. Actress also plays Mrs. Jones and Old Lady, two elderly female characters. All three of these roles are refractions of the same life-force woman. Clare: Woman, mid-late 40s, any ethnicity. Struggling in her suburban marriage to Dave. Loves him, but feels she gave up her youthful ambition (to be an artist) to become a wife/mother. Now their kids are grown; she wants to move back into the city to regain her youth. High-end travel agent (Peter is her best client), which means being available 24/7. She doesn't mind, and will sacrifice her anniversary date with her husband if it means scoring points to help her get back into the city. Dave: Man, mid 40s - early 50s, any ethnicity. In a huge mid-life crisis, in enormous pain. Recently lost his job to downsizing; his youngest child (a boy who didn't turn out the way Dave wanted) has just left the house; his wife Clare has become the sole breadwinner. Reacts with a short fuse and a wandering eye. Has constructed his life to avoid thinking about a life- altering childhood tragedy; that wall is starting to crumble. Good guy in a bad place. Ana: Latina, 20s. Marries Billy, but panics and becomes a runaway bride. Attractive, smart, hardworking and confident. Went through hell to emigrate from Latin America; her childhood poverty haunts her. Worked her way up from a laundromat to a fancy real-estate office; she is Peter's assistant and a Realtor-in-training. Loves Billy but realizes that he's not onboard with her huge need for upward mobility. Billy: Caucasian man, mid- late 20s. Sweet, genuine, comfortable in his own skin. Good guy with no ambition whatsoever except to have the family he never had as a kid. Grew up in a lower-middle-class family the youngest of many brothers; took care of them and his alcoholic mother. Brothers led him into a life of minor crime; he took the rap for them. Now a sous-chef in a hot restaurant, and a totally regular guy. Ana is the girl of his dreams.
